First pics and news of the new Popeye Light Super Stock

The Popeye Pulling Team around John van Alphen, Harrie van Heeswijk, Arjan Geerts and Stijn van de Wouw from Bladel, in the Netherlands are building a new Light Super Stock tractor at the moment. After many years in Modified pulling, the team had decided to retire with their Modified tractor in the end of 2013. After that, the team had decided to built a new tractor for the Light Super Stock class.
The new tractor gets a homemade 42CrMo04 tube chassis, a original John Deere 8530 hood and is powered by a 7.6l turbocharged 6 cylinder JD 6466 engine with a JD 55 series cylinderhead on alcohol. The Intake and exhaust manifolds will be homemade. Also, the engine gets a MSD 8 Plus ignition and a Racepak IQ3 dash logger. Which type and size of turbocharger the tractor gets, isn´t sure at the moment (the max. size is 4,25").The new project gets a SCS reverser, the old ROP and the old rearaxle of the Popeye modified tractor. The rearaxle is a homemade axle with Franklin and Rockwell parts. The tyres are Firestone 24,5 x 32 10 ply with Midwest aluminium rims.
The first start of the new tractor isn´t known at the moment.
