The new Honkin´ Donkey

The Honkin´ Donkey Pulling Team around Jason Hathaway from Washington, Pennsylvania in the USA are currently building a new 2050lbs Mini Rod Tractor. The Mini Rod receives a new 25CrMo4 tube frame with a 25CrMo4 rollcage, new carbon fiber fenders and a Vreeman Special Products rear axle housing. The frame with the rollcage was built and constructed by the Screamin´ Bobcat Pulling Team from Ijsselmuiden in the Netherlands. The Chassis is a copy of the 2016 Bobcat Jr..The drivers position on the new frame is more forward and the center of gravety is lower, than on his old Mini Rods in the past. The Team hopes to get a better balance with this new Chassis.
The Tractor gets a Ford 9´´ inch rear axle with a billet aluminium center section from Vreeman Special Products (VSP), a VSP ring and pinion gear, a special made VSP differential, VSP aluminium planetary carrier housing with special built planetaries, a VSP drivetrain and a SCS reverser. The new ride will also have a new 8´´ inch Molinari centrifugal clutch with a Trick Titanium clutch bell housing. Jason bought for his new Mini a set of new Real Wheel rims with cut Cepek Mini Rod tyres from CM Pulling Tires.
The new Honkin´ Donkey will have a Sassy Racing V8 Hemi engine on methanol. The engine has a billet aluminium BAE block with BAE-10 Alcohol Fat Head cylinder heads, Moroso valve covers, a Winberg crankshaft with MGP aluminium rods and CP-Carrillo aluminium pistons, homemade exhaust headers, a Mike Janis supercharger with an Mike Janis ,,Dragon Slayer´´ billet aluminium injector, a Sassy Racing fuel system, a dry sump lubrication, a RCD oil pump, a aluminium fuel and oil tank, a MSD Pro Mag 44 ignition and a Racepak data logger.
The Honkin´ Donkey Pulling Team will compete with their new Mini Rod in the NTPA Grand National Championship this year.
The first start of the new Honkin´ Donkey is planned for the 2nd and 3rd of June 2017 at the NTPA Grand National opener in Benson (Galot Motorsport Park), North Carolina.
