The new Ground Shaker 2.0 of Egbert Dros

Egbert Dros, together with his Komeco Simply Irresistible Pulling Team from Dronten in the Netherlands have built a new 950kg / 2095lbs. Mini Modified Tractor called ,,Ground Shaker 2.0´´.
The new Mini Rod received a new 25CrMo4 tube frame with an 25CrMo4 Rollcage (ROP) and a Vreeman Special Parts rear axle housing. The tube frame of the new Mini Rod was constructed and built by the Screamin´ Bobcat Pulling Team from Ijsselmuiden in the Netherlands. The frame is a copy of the 2016 Bobcat Jr. frame. The homemade carbon fiber fenders of the Tractor were made by crew member Gertie Leusink. The Mini got a Ford 9´´inch rear axle with a CNC milled aluminium center section from Vreeman Special Parts (VSP), VSP aluminium planetary carrier housing with special made planetaries, a VSP driveline and a SCS gearbox with a SCS reverser. All the gears for the rear axle were made by Vreeman Special Parts (Bennie Vreeman) in Neede, the Netherlands. The Mini Mod also have a 8´´ inch Molinari centrifugal clutch with 3 discs and a Browell aluminium clutch bell housing. Egbert bought for his new vehicle a set of new Real Wheel rims from the USA with a set of new Pioneer Giant Puller Mini Rod tyres.
The new Ground Shaker 2.0 is powered by an BAE V8 Hemi engine on methanol. The new power plant received a billet aluminium BAE engine block with Darton sleeves, homemade CNC milled aluminium Post & Dros Hemi cylinder heads with camshafts from LSM, Morel 1´´ inch lifters, Victory valves with PAC springs, homemade exhaust headers, a Bryant Racing crankshaft with CP-Carrillo aluminium rods and pistons, a new SSI 18-71 blower with a self developed/homemade carbon fiber scoop, a homemade fuel system with a Waterman methanol fuel pump, a aluminium fuel and oil tank, a dry sump lubrication with a Aviaid oil pump, a Dual MSD Pro Mag 44 ignition and a completely Racepak datalogger system. The new Ground Shaker is the first Mini Modified Tractor in Europe who´s running with a dual 44 mags ignition system on a V8 engine. With those new self developed Post & Dros Hemi heads it´s possible to drive with 1 or 2 spark plugs on each cylinder now. But the new Ground Shaker 2.0 isn´t the only Mini with those Post & Dros heads. Also the V8 BAE power plant of the Dutch Mini Mod called ,,Let´s Try´´ of Marck Jansen and Oskar van de Vinne running with the same generation of heads since last year.
Egbert Dros will compete with his new 950kg / 2095lbs. Mini Modified Tractor in the NTTO Grand National Championship and in the Euro Cup in the future.
The new Ground Shaker 2.0 went very well on his maiden voyage in Lochem, the Netherlands.
Egbert made a very nice pass with 104.97m / 344.39 feet and finished on a great 4th place in the end. The whole Team was very satisfied with the first run so far and looking forward to the next events of the season.

R.I.P Mike Piper

Former NTPA Mod and Unlimited competitor Mike Piper from Mount Vernon, Illinois in the USA, passed away on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the age of 69 after a battle with cancer. Mike competed on the NTPA's Grand and Pro National Series in the 1990s at several weight classes including Unlimited. He won the Bowling Green Championship ring in 1998 in the 7600lbs. Unlimited as well as 7200lbs. classes at BG in 1988 and 1989. He also was the guestpuller with his Unlimited Mod Tractor called ,,Just Add Dirt´´ at the European Superpull in Ahoy, Rotterdam, the Netherlands in 1999. Mike Piper was the second of three generations of pullers: his father Henry pulled Super Stocks in the NTPA's early years, while his son Brian, who sadly passed in 2011, also pulled Modifieds.

We wish his family peace and strength to bear this painful loss.

The new Lucky Ducky

From Putten in the Netherlands, the Lucky Ducky Pulling Team (formerly Little Bandit Pulling Team) have built a new 950kg Mini Modified Tractor during the last winter. After problems with the ring and pinion gear of the Rockwell rearend during the 2016 season, the Dutch Team around Couzijn van Heuvelen have decided to built a completely new Chassis for the 2017 season. The new Chassis was further improved compared to the old one. The Mini Mod got a new homemade Docol R8 tube frame with a homemade Rollcage, a custom made steering, carbon fiber fenders and a new Vreeman Special Parts rearend.
The new rearend is a Ford 9" inch rear axle with a billet aluminium differential, a special made ring and pinion gear, a aluminium center section and billet aluminium planetaries carrier housing with special made planetaries.
The new ride also got a Vreeman Special Parts (VSP) reverser with a VSP driveline, a Molinari 8" inch centrifugal clutch with 3 discs and a Browell aluminium clutch bellhousing.
All the components for the new rearend was built by Bennie Vreeman of Vreeman Special Parts from Neede in the Netherlands.
With all those new parts and the improved chassis, the new Mini is lighter than the old one with the Rockwell rearend. The Team purchased for the vehicle a set of new Real Wheel aluminium rims with new Pioneer Giant Puller tyres from CM Pulling Tires in the USA.
The new Lucky Ducky is powered by an BAE V8 Hemi engine on methanol fuel.
The engine was took over of the old Little Bandit Mini Rod and was completely dismantled and checked during the last winter.
The engine have a BAE aluminium billet block with Veney cylinder heads, Moroso valve covers, Dan Olson Racing exhaust headers, a MSD Pro Mag 44 ignition, a DMPE 18-71 blower with an PSI Carbon Fiber scoop, a homemade fuel and oil tank, a Waterman fuel pump, a dry sump lubrication and a Racepak data logger.
The Lucky Ducky Pulling Team compete with the Mini Rod in Dutch Grand National Championship and in the Euro Cup this year.
But the biggest question was, why got the Tractor and the Team a new name. Simply, the Mini Rod Team split from the Bandit Pulling Team and going their own way now. Shortly after the European Superpull in Ahoy, the Team signed a sponsor contract with Tomassen Duck-To from Ermelo in the Netherlands. Tomassen Duck-To BV Ermelo produces fresh-frozen Peking ducks, share ducks and sell convenience foods. Because of the new main sponsor the Tractor got the name ,,Lucky Ducky´´.
