The new Mini gets a new homemade Docol R8 tube frame with a homemade chrome-moly Rollcage, homemade aluminium fenders, a self constructed steering and a new lighter rearend.
The Rollcage and the fenders were took over of the old Black Blood Tractor. Also, the set of cut Cepek Giant Puller tyres on the polished aluminium rims come from the old one. The drivers position on the newly built chassis is more forward and the center of gravety is lower than on the old Tractor. Also the position of the radial engine is more forward. The Team hopes to get a better balance with those changes for the future. The new lighter rearend is a special built sheet metal rear axle housing with a billet aluminium center section, a aluminium diff with special made gears and a special made ring and pinion gear. The Oil Addict Team purchased the complete rear axle by the Pulling Team called ,,The Challenger´´ from the Netherlands last year.
Because of the weight, the Tractor will have no transmission, only a new homemade driveline from the clutch to the center section of the rear axle. The new Vehicle also receives a 3 disc Crower centrifugal clutch with a size of 11´´ inch and a special manufactured Browell aluminium bell housing.
The new Black Blood will have a Pratt & Whitney R-1830 Radial Aircraft engine with 14 cylinder and a capacity of 30l / 1830cui. on avgas. The engine ran usually in the Consolidated B-24 and in the Grumman F4F Wildcat Aircraft from the second world war. The 14 cylinder engine makes around 1200 HP. The power plant on the Mini Mod has a original supercharger, stock connection rods and pistons, original heads, homemade steel exhaust pipes, a original modified fuel system, the original ignition system and a self made fuel and oil tank.
The Oil Addict Pulling Team will compete with their new 950kg / 2095lbs. Mini Modified in the 2018 Danish Championship. The maiden voyage of the completely new built Black Blood is planned for the beginning of May 2018 at the Danish Championship opener in Brande.
The Danish Team also currently looking for Pratt & Whitney R-1830 spare parts or complete spare engines. If anybody knows something, then you can contact the Team by phone or email.
