The new Turbo Star

The Flying Hawk Pulling Team from Porta-Westfalica, in Germany, together with the Gladiateur Pulling Team from France are currently building on a new 2.5t / 5500lbs. Light Modified Tractor with a turbocharged Continental V12 tank engine. Both Teams started with the new project in the winter of 2015 in the Flying Hawk workshop in Porta-Westfalica. The new project got a new homemade Domex wedge frame with a homemade steel rollcage, homemade wheelie bars, a hydraulic power steering and a Rockwell rearend. The new fenders of the Light Mod were built by the Rocket Science Pulling Team from Weert, in the Netherlands. The fenders are made from carbon fiber. His big brother called ,,Flying Hawk" has the same ones. The Teams purchased for the new project a set of new Northern Sheen aluminium rims from Canada with new cut Firestone Puller 2000 HP tires. The new tires of the Light Mod were cut by Steen Dam in Denmark.
The Rockwell rearend received a original Rockwell center section with a Rockwell diff, a Rockwell ring and pinion gear, billet aluminium ZF planetaries carrier housing with ZF planetaries and self built brake discs with billet aluminium brake calipers. The billet planetaries carrier housing were built by the Le Coiffeur Pulling Team from Georgsmarienh├╝tte, in Germany. Also the Domex frame rails and the bent tubes for the rollcage were purchased by the same Team.
The newly constructed drivetrain of the Tractor gets a homemade reverser with a special manufactured driveline from Zahnradfabrik Lechleitner, a homemade 4 disc centrifugal clutch with a size of 11" inch and a homemade aluminium clutch bell housing. The new reverser has a CNC - milled aluminium housing with special made shafts and gears by Zahnradfabrik Lechleitner from Kamen, in Germany.
The new Turbo Star will have a turbocharged Continental AV-1790 V12 tank engine with 29.4l / 1790cui. displacement on methanol fuel. The engine ran on the old twin Continental powered Heavy Mod Tractor called ,,Wild Hawk" in the past. The tank power plant has a original Continental block with revised stock cylinder heads, original Continental camshafts with original valves and valve springs, original sleeves, a stock Conti crank with original rods and pistons, a new homemade intake and exhaust manifold, a 4 Schwitzer charger setup, a self built fuel system with Enderle fuel pumps and homemade injectors, a homemade fuel tank, a self built oil pan with a original oil pump and a electronic ignition with a Memotec built data logger.
Each of the 4 turbocharger feed 3 cylinder of the engine with air. 
The Flying Hawk and the Gladiateur Pulling Team will compete with their new vehicle on German and French Pulling tracks this year. The maiden voyage of the new Turbo Star Light Mod is planned for the 7th of April 2018 at the German Indoor Pull in Riesa, Germany.
