New Case IH Optum by Roger Ruwe

Roger Ruwe from Herman, Nebraska in the USA has built a new Case IH 8200lbs. Light Limit Pro Stock tractor during the last winter. After 3 years on Nebraskas and Outlaw Pulling tracks with a IH 1066 in the Light Limit Pro Stock class, he decided to built a new tractor for the 8200lbs. Light Limit Pro in the winter of 2017/2018. The old 1066 was completely taken apart, only the rearend, gearbox and the bell housing left over of the old tractor for the new project. A lots of parts for the vehicle were completely new built. The new Leight Limit Pro got a new chrome-moly tube frame with a new chrome-moly rollcage, a hydraulic power steering, a machined 706 rearend and a completely new drawbar.
The most of the parts in the 706 rearend like the planetaries and the ring and pinion gear are still original. Only the differential is billet.
The hood on the tractor is a Case IH Optum 300 hood of the current Case IH Optum series. The sides of the hood were cut down to give the hood better lines. The rest of the hood and also the grill are still original. The fenders on the ride were built off aluminium sheet metal. The completely new chassis, the new fenders and all the sheet metal work on the hood and around chassis were done by Mike Stinson, owner of ACE Chassis from Cottontown, Tennessee.
The cast iron bell housing of the Light Limit Pro comes out of an IH 1066 and was machined. In the housing sit a 3 disc Atlas centrifugal clutch with a size of 12.5´´inch and is protected by a shatter blanket around the bell housing.
Also IH 1066 gearbox housing was machined to lose weight and a lighter 5 speed Atlas Max transmission was fitted into the stock housing.
The rear wheels on the machine are a set of new polished Keizer aluminium rims with new cut 24.5 x 32 Pro Puller tires. The tires were purchased by Pro Puller Tires in Firth, Nebraska and cut by Taylor Vanbeek at Extreme Performance & Tire Cutting in Rock Valley, Iowa.
The new tractor called ,,One Mean Farmer´´ is powered by turbocharged 6 cylinder IH 466 engine with 466cui. on diesel fuel. The power plant received a IH 466 stock cast iron block with billet sleeves, a billet crank with billet rods and pistons, a revised IH 466 head with a costum ground camshaft, a Precision 3x4 turbocharger with IH dual fed dozer intake, a homemade intake and exhaust manifold and a Fair Valley diesel fuel injection pump with Fair Valley injectors. The head of the engine was revised by Harry’s heads with a 5 axis cnc milling machine and polished by hand.
The first season for Roger Ruwe with his new Case IH Optum 300 was pretty well. He had 24 top 10 finishes in 2018, including 13 top 5, 4 runner ups and 2 wins in the Outlaw Pulling Series. Roger lead the points most of the year, but ended up 3rd in the Outlaw point standings out of 20 tractors. Roger Ruwe has planned to run for points in the Outlaws (Outlaw Truck & Tractor Pulling Association) next season and move up to 640 Limited Pro in 2020.
