Q & A with Bas Liefting

Bas Liefting, 46 years old from Egmond, in the Netherlands. Bas is the driver of the Isotov TV3 powered Modified Tractor called ,,Argos Oil Whispering Giant´´. He won the European Championship title in the 3.5t Modified class in 2013 and he also was runner up at the European Championship in Alphen, the Netherlands in the same class this year. Bas also is a chairman of the NTTO in the Grand National section.

Bas Liefting: Sales engineer (at a company  for overhaul of rotating equipment)

pullingworld.com: What do you like to do in your free time, except Tractor Pulling?
Bas Liefting: Free time: my family!

Bas Liefting: Technic, power and the differences at every pull event

pullingworld.com: What was your first Tractor Pulling event?
Bas Liefting: 85’ or 86’ I think Wierden (NL) or Flevohof (NL)

pullingworld.com: What is your favourite Event / Pulling track?
Bas Liefting: Lidk√∂ping, Sweden, best track in the Euro Cup and Lochem (NL) is the favorite event for the ambiance. 

pullingworld.com: When and where do you have driven a Pulling Tractor for the first time?
Bas Liefting: In 1993 at the Flevohof (NL) pull.

pullingworld.com: What was your biggest success?
Bas Liefting: European Champion in Zele, Belgium 2013.

pullingworld.com: Which Pulling classes do you like too?
Bas Liefting: Pro Stock and Mini Unlimited.

pullingworld.com: What was your biggest disappointment?
Bas Liefting: Our accident in 1998.

pullingworld.com: What are your plans for the future in Tractor Pulling?
Bas Liefting: More turbines?

pullingworld.com: What was for you the most important moment in the sport?
Bas Liefting: First pull with 4 turbines in 2003 and the first time pulling in front of the Keep Moving Orange sledge in 2014 !

pullingworld.com: What was your favourite Pulling Tractor project in the workshop during a winter?
Bas Liefting: Building the tractor or gearboxes.
