Q & A with Daniel Hinrichs

Daniel Hinrichs, 40 years old from Bockhorn, in Germany. Daniel is known as the "Voice of Farm Pulling" announces Farm Pulling and Tractor Pulling events in Germany. He's also announcing together with Ulf Schnackenberg the Tractor Pulling event in Knutwil, Switzerland every year. What are you doing in your normal life?
Daniel Hinrichs: I'm owner of a Shop for sound & light equipment located in the north of Germany and I work as DJ for more than 20 years. What do you like to do in your free time, except Tractor Pulling?
Daniel Hinrichs: It depends on the season. For example in the winter time I like to go skiing and in the summer time I go to antique tractor meetings with my little LANZ Bulldog tractor. But to be honest: Because of Tractor Pulling there's almost no time left for that. What do you like about Tractor Pulling?
Daniel Hinrichs: I really like to meet all the people from different countries. It is absolutely fantastic that the pulling scene does not know any borders or limits. Friendships of people from all the different countries are something very worthful in these times! What was your first Tractor Pulling event?
Daniel Hinrichs: When I was 14 I visited the first event in Edewecht, Germany. What is your favourite Event / Pulling track?
Daniel Hinrichs: That's a little bit difficult to say. You have to compare the possibilities of the organizers with what they make of it. If this is considered almost every event is something special. Regarding the atmosphere I like the event in Knutwil (Switzerland) and Volkmarst (Germany) very much! For me as announcer it is important to create a special atmosphere on the tracks. When and where do you have announced a Pulling event for the first time?
Daniel Hinrichs: It was in 2004. In that time I started announcing on small events with stock tractors. In 2008 I started to announce the farm pulling series in Germany. What was your biggest success?
Daniel Hinrichs: Definitely the events in Volkmarst (D) and Knutwil (CH). Which Pulling classes do you like too?
Daniel Hinrichs: In Germany they call me "The voice of farm pulling" but to be honest: I also love pro stocks and super stocks as well as the two wheel drives and the truck pullers from around Europe! What was your biggest disappointment?
Daniel Hinrichs: My first pull on a farm pulling tractor ended at around 80 meters :-) Seriously: I can't remember that there really was something disappointing to me on a pulling event but for example it's always sad if there are bad weather conditions. Which things must be changed in the future of the Tractor Pulling sport?
Daniel Hinrichs: At the moment I think we are successful in almost every European country. My only wish for the future is that we stand together as one and try to make the same rules and classes for the different countries. That's the key to come together and have great pulls with the same requirements. What are your plans for the future in Tractor Pulling?
Daniel Hinrichs: I would like to expand my moderation and maybe even be a guest announcer in other European countries. But I think I have to stop smoking someday because I really can feel that this is not good for my voice. If only this wouldn't be soooo hard to manage.... ;-) What was for you the most important moment in the sport?
Daniel Hinrichs: In 2012 I had the chance to be announcer on my very first European Championships. That was a fantastic experience! What is your favourite Pulling Tractor / Pulling Team?
Daniel Hinrichs: There is more than only 1 team. I have found very good friends for example in the Netherlands (Sledge Hammer, Rhino Rocket and some more) as well as in Belgium (Code Red) and England (Ice Bear). So I really love all those freaks <3 Something you want to say?
Daniel Hinrichs: Thank you for letting me be a part of! Hope to see all fans at any competition. I wish all the fans great events and all the teams a lot of full pulls! Together we are strong! Especially for the pulling scene: Let's work hard together that there is no chance for racism! We are ONE! Thank you for your time and good luck for the future!
