New John Deere Pro Stock in Denmark

From Gandrup in Denmark, the Green Star Pulling Team around Tom and Kjeld Sorensen have built a new John Deere Tractor for the Pro Stock class. Tom and Kjeld started with the new Pro Stock project 3 years ago and finished the building of the new vehicle in the summer this year. The Green Star Team isn´t a unknown Team in Denmark. They competed many years in 3.6t Farm Stock class in Denmark with a European John Deere 3130 called ,,Green Star´´. After a lots of problems and damages on the engine in the Farm Stock Tractor during the 2013 season, the Danish Team decided to make the step into the Pro Stock class with a completely new built Tractor. They started with the planning and building of the new Pro Stock in the winter of 2013/2014 in their workshop in Gandrup. The Tractor got a completely new homemade Domex wedge frame with
a homemade Docol Rollcage, a homemade hydraulic steering, a homemade 6mm Domex sheet metal rear axle housing, a self built John Deere 4850 fiber glass hood and homemade aluminium fenders. The Domex rearend has a Scania ring and pinion gear, a Scania steel center section with a homemade aluminium diff, special made driveshafts and ZF steel reductions with special made ZF planetaries. The Component Pro Stock Tractor also received a Profab 3 speed transmission with a homemade driveline, a B&B centrifugal clutch with 4 discs, a billet steel flywheel and a Browell aluminium clutch bell housing. The rear wheels on the machine are self made steel rims with a set of used Firestone 24.5x32 Puller tires.
The new Green Star Tractor is powered by a John Deere 6466 engine with 8.3l capacity on diesel fuel. The John Deere power plant has a bored up 6466 JD stock block with billet steel sleeves, a billet crankshaft with billet rods and pistons, a modified JD 6466 head with a billet camshaft and billet rocker arms, billet pushrods and role lifters, titanium valves and valve springs, a homemade intake and exhaust manifold, a Holset HX 80 turbocharger with a billet 4.6´´ inch intake wheel, a homemade water cooled aluminium Intercooler, a Columbus Sigma fuel injection pump with 17mm elements and a RPM Performance data logger
system. The engine makes around 5000-5500 rpm.
The Team is happy with the performance of the new Tractor so far, but the engine running currently on a stable and safe setup. They can make a lot more horsepower with some upgrades on the fuel pump in the future. But the most important thing for the Team is to learn the new Pro Stock technic at the moment.
The Green Star Pulling Team will compete again in the Danish Championship next year.

Screamin´ Bobcat Team make history in BG

They have done it, after 4 years of hard work, the Screamin´ Bobcat Pulling Team from Ijsselmuiden in the Netherlands have won their first Bowling Green Ring in the 2050lbs Mini Modified class with their Tractor called ,,Bobcat Jr´´.
Driver Berrie Boer won the first session of the 2050lbs Mini Modified class on Thursday and finished in the 2nd Session on Saturday evening on a 2nd place. Those two great results were enough to win the 2017 Bowling Green Ring. In 51 years of the Super National Pull, the Ring was never been won by a European Pulling Team in the past. Berrie is the first European who has won the BG Ring in Super National Pull history. But that was not everything, the Dutch Team also won for the first time the NTPA Shell Rotella Cup with a 17 points gap to Jason Hathaway and his Honkin´ Donkey Grey. Also the NTPA point standings looks not bad for the Screamin´ Bobcat Team. They are currently leading the Championship with 502 points, 22.5 points in front of Jason Hathaway´s Honkin´ Donkey Grey and with 33 points on Larry Koester´s Footloose.
