Finnish Championship 2020 cancelled!

Around 4 weeks ago the Finnish Tractor Pulling Association FTPA has announced on their website and Facebook page that the whole Finnish Tractor Pulling Championship is cancelled due to the current COVID-19 situation in Finland.


Here is the official statement of the FTPA:

It has been decided to cancel the Finnish Championship series for the 2020 season. The current situation does not allow for the organization of the five competitions defined in the competition guidelines, so, unfortunately, there are no preconditions for the Finnish Championship series. However, event organizers are encouraged to hold lighter budget and demanding C-races if the situation allows in the autumn.

The European Championships will not be held in Finland this year either. The championship series in many participating countries, as well as the Eurocup and Eurochallenge, have also been canceled, so competitors would hardly be seen on the line. Together with ETPC, we will investigate the fate of the European Championships and the possibility of postponing the games to a later date.

If anything positive, then now is the time to get the machines ready for the first pull of the 2021 season!

More German Championship pulls cancelled in 2020

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the new rules of the German government to contain the COVID-19 flu, almost all German Championship pulling events were cancelled between the months of May and August. The new rules by the government mean that no major events may take place in Germany until August 31, 2020.

Haltern am See (NRW):
Dear visitors, dear teams and dear trecker-treck fans,
unfortunately, we have to cancel our planned trecker-treck in May 2020. The reason is the ongoing corona crisis. Organizing and planning are almost impossible under these circumstances - that's why we decided not to set up a tractor trek this year.
We would like to thank all teams, fans, and visitors for their interest and especially our help! And we look forward to the trecker-treck in 2021.

No Tractor Pulling events in Denmark until the August 31st

A couple of weeks ago, the Danish government has announced due to the COVID-19 situation that all big events are forbidden to host in Denmark until the 31st of August 2020. If you're looking to the 2020 calendar of the DTP, almost all pulls of the danish championship which was usually planned between the months of May and August were cancelled. Currently, most of the danish organizers have announced that they didn't want to postponed their event this year. That means currently Denmark would have no Danish Championship pull and no Danish Championship in 2020.

2020 Hillsboro Charity Pull cancelled!

Also yesterday the promoters of the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling Champions Tour round in Hillsboro, Wisconsin, the USA have announced on their Facebook page that the pull which was originally scheduled for August 14th and 15th, 2020 is cancelled. 
The pull has been canceled due to the caution and uncertainty of local and state restrictions in the month of August 2020.

Here is the official statement of the promoters:

Out of an abundance of caution and uncertainty of local and state restrictions in the month of August, the Hillsboro Charity Pull, originally scheduled for August 14th and 15th, 2020 has been cancelled. It is not the choice that we wanted to make but it was the necessary one for this year. The fans, pullers, sponsors, and vendors deserve the very best from us and given the conditions that we have placed in with the COVID-19 pandemic it is not feasible at this time. The Hillsboro Charity Pull is exactly that-a charity pull. And we cannot ask or expect the local and national sponsors whose support we rely on to help put this show on financially to do that this year during this unprecedented economic situation.

We appreciate the support of our fans, pullers, vendors, sponsors, the Lucas Oil Pro Pulling League and Badger State Tractor Pullers. We look forward to returning August 13th and 14th, 2021 and invite you to join us then for some of the best truck and tractor pulling in the nation.

Volkmarst cancelled!

On the 22nd of April, the organization of the pulling event in Volkmast, Germany announced on their Facebook page that the 2020 edition of their tractor pull is cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation in Germany. The event will not be rescheduled in 2020.

Here is the official statement of the Trecker Treck Volkmarst Team:

As already announced, we will speak again, why and

for which reason, we cannot let our event in 2020 to take place in the usual way.
CORONA!

Yes, the virus is not only going to put a spanner in the works for us this year, but also for many other events, but what should we do .. since the federal and state governments have decided that no major events may take place until August 31, 2020 - so we have to we also cancel our event!Many have already asked why we are not looking for an alternative date this year and do not want the event to take place in 2020 anyway, there are several reasons for this... For example:

Nobody knows when the Corona theme is really and finally off the table!
-Volkmarst is simply part of Father's Day weekend and not September or later...
-It is not possible to plan anything more precise because of point 1, because everything would still be in the stars, even if a new weekend was found ..
-We do not want our 15th-anniversary event to be a letdown and we want to offer you the best that we can
-...

We could now list so many more reasons that speak against a replacement date this year, we just hope you understand our decision and hope to be able to welcome you all to us on May 23, 2020 in the live stream - to help you in this difficult time together ( even if it will only be virtual) Celebrate Volkmarst and in retrospect also enjoy it.
