Lebrun Pulling Team returns!

The Lebrun Pulling Team around the brothers Gonzague and Edouard Lebrun and their cousin Marc Lebrun from Airan in France will return to the pulling sport in 2021. After a 27 years absence, the both sons (Gonzague and Edouard) of the former super stock competitor Christian Lebrun have decided to build a completely new pulling tractor for the limited super stock class. The new limited super stock will have a tube chassis from Canada with a new Case IH Optum 300 CVX hood and a turbocharged 6 cylinder IH engine on alcohol fuel.
The French Team purchased the old tube chassis of the Canadian Case IH Steiger STX 500 super stock open and light super stock tractor called ''Crazy Canuck'' from Patrice Beaudry in Granby, Quebec, Canada.
The Lebrun Family competed in the 80s and early 90s with a diesel super stock tractor in the French Championship. During those last 3 years Gonzague and Edouard Lebrun helped Benoit Soenen from Bernay to rebuild his tractor called ''Diable Rouge'' from a pro stock into a limited super stock and learned there a lot about the alcohol technic on the engine. The maiden run of the new Case IH Optum machine is planned for 2021.

Further information about the new project will follow, check here at pullingworld.com!

Changes and a new look for Aftermath

The New Century V8 powered tractor called ''Aftermath'' of the Aftermath Pulling Team from Preston in Great Britain received some changes during the last winter of 2019 / 2020. After 4 years competing successfully in Europe and a couple of British Championship titles in the 2.5t / 5500lbs light mod and 3.5t / 7700lbs mod division and a runner up place at the 2017 EC in Stroe, the Netherlands the team around Daniel Whittingham decided to give the tractor a technical update and a new look. Before the mod came to Europe the Aftermath mod was built by the former owner Jeff Gueningsman from Winsted, Minnesota in the USA in 2004. Jeff started first with 3 Chevy engines mainly on NTPA Regional pulls in the USA before he rebuilt the tractor to 4 and 5 Chevy's some years later.
Jeff competed with 4 engines in the 7500lbs mod and with 5 in the 8000lbs unlimited division on the NTPA circuits until 2011. In late July of 2011, Jeff passed away after a long time battle with lung cancer. After his death, the tractor stood in his workshop for around 4 years. During the winter of 2015, Daniel Whittingham purchased the tractor with all 5 engines from the Gueningsman family and the machine got a second life in Great Britain. In those 4 years in Europe, not very much was changed on the mod, only the Chevy engines were replaced by much more powerful New Century V8 power plants during the winter of 2016 / 2017. The British team purchased those 4 New Century engines from Brian Shramek from Williamsburg, Missouri in the USA.
The power plants worked on Brian Shramek's unlimited mod called ''Young Blood Unleashed'' in the past.
After the 2019 season and 15 years with the same paint job and look, the guys decided to give the tractor a facelift and a new look.
The chassis was completely new repainted in grey and the old fenders were replaced by new ones off carbon fiber. The new carbon fiber fenders were built by the Rocket Science Pulling Team from Weert in the Netherlands and are much lighter compared to the old ones. The brand new vinyl graphics on the fenders and the new paint job of the chassis were done by local companies close to them. But the machine not only received a new paint job and new fenders with new vinyl graphics.
All 4 New Century V8 engines and the blowers were also completely overhauled during the last winter. The 8-71 PSI blowers went to the PSI company in the US and were fully reconditioned by them for the new season.
Last but not least the old Firestone Puller 2000HP tires were replaced by a set of almost new cut Mitas Powerpull 30.5x32 tires on polished Midwest aluminum rims. Daniel and his team purchased the Mitas tires from the Young Blood Pulling Team from Williamsburg, Missouri in the USA. The tires ran before on one of the two Agco DT Diesel Super Stock tractors of the Young Blood Pulling Team in the past. The Powerpull tires were cut by Chad Mayhill of CM Pulling Tires from Reynolds, Indiana in the USA.
The team made its maiden voyage after all those changes at the Indoor Pull in Zwolle, the Netherlands last February. Everything worked well especially the new Mitas tires gave the tractor another boost on the track. The British team was very pleased about those new tires on the tractor.
The results said everything, in the end, a 6th place in the 8860lbs / 4t unlimited class and a very good 2nd place in the 7700lbs / 3.5t mod class, just around 2m behind the multiple European Champion Intertechno Lambada with his 3 Hemis from the Netherlands.

Simply Green sold!

The 4.5t / 9920lbs farm stock / super sport tractor called ''Simply Green'' of the Simply Green Pulling Team from Moolenaarsgraaf in the Netherlands has a new home in the northern part of Europe now. The John Deere 4020 was sold included with the 8.9l turbocharged John Deere engine to Finland.
The Dutch team competed with the machine very successful on the Dutch and European pulling tracks in the 4.5t / 9920lbs super sport division from 2009 until the end of 2019. The Simply Green Team around Laurens den Boer and Marien den Besten won in those 10 years incredible 9 Dutch Championship titles in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.
But the biggest success for them was definitely the European Championship title in 2015 and another 3rd place at the EC in Brande, Denmark last year. During the 2019 season, they decided after 10 successful years to sell the tractor at the end of the 2019 season, because the team had plans to built a new machine for the 2020 season. The Simply Green Pulling Team currently building again on a new John Deere tractor for the 4.5t / 9920lbs farm stock / super sport class on component basis.
The new owner of the old tractor from Finland is currently not known, but it's sure the super sport John Deere will definitely enrich the class in Finland!

Lions Super Pull of the South cancelled!

From NTPA: The Chapel Hill Lions Club has announced the cancellation of the Lions Super Pull of the South for 2020. The decision comes in response to the ongoing health and economic crises that have wracked the United States since the outbreak of COVID-19 in late winter.
The NTPA Super National event, originally planned for Friday and Saturday, July 24-25, will not be rescheduled in 2020. Per the Lions' and the Association's multiyear sanctioning agreement, dates for the 2021 edition are Friday and Saturday, July 23-24.

Chris Gilbert, the event's longtime chairman and announcer, reports that it's the first total cancellation in the Super Pull's history, which dates to 1976. "We've lost a session to rain here and there over the years," Gilbert noted, "but nothing like this has ever hit us before.

“Nothing has hit anyone like this before."

"We know how heartbreaking this news is for our great pulling fans in Tennessee and beyond," admitted Gregg Randall, NTPA General Manager. "We feel the disappointment in our own office and among the competitors. All of us look forward to the honor of presenting a pull for the Lions in front of their crowds."

Since its inception, the Lions Super Pull of the South has been conducted as a fundraiser for both community projects and wellness organizations. Proceeds from each year's pull benefit Middle Tennessee Eye Bank Services and the Monroe J. Carroll Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt University.and help to fund many youth, senior citizen and community projects in Chapel Hill and surrounding Marshall County.

"At a certain point, the challenges involved in having a pull of both Chapel Hill's size and style become insurmountable in the current climate," Randall continued. "If you've been there, you know how extensively the event relies on the commitments of its local and regional sponsors and the dedicated volunteers that attend to every detail. Well, right now everyone in that sponsor book is hurting to one degree or another, and every one of those volunteers would be putting themselves at some risk, to say nothing of the competitors and spectators.

"Weighing their options, the Lions came to a tough realization that 2020 was unlikely to be the robust event they wanted," Randall surmised. "We understand their decision, and we can't wait to take part in the 2021 Super Pull."

Gilbert said that in the end, it came down to maintaining a standard. "For us, it's about giving all of our guests the entire Chapel Hill experience. Do we have the meals, the get-togethers? Do we have open pits, full stands? If we can't have that, we don't want to do it halfway.

"We'll regroup, and we'll see you all next year."
