Brothers Toy has a new home

The 3.5t component limited super stock called ''Brothers Toy'' of Henk, Jacob and Bert Vos has a new home now. In the summer/fall of 2022, the 3 brothers offers surprisingly their Massey Ferguson 7710 alky burner tractor for sale. But the sale of the limited super stock took quite a while before somebody was interested to purchase the tractor. The nice Massey Ferguson tractor was purchased by a not unknown team in the European pulling sport. The whole tractor went to the Cobra Pulling Team around Paul Beniers from Aarle-Rixtel in the Netherlands.
The Cobra Pulling Team itself competed from 2016 until 2022 with their IH Farmall 706 tractor called ''Cobra XL'' in the 3.6t super sport class in the Dutch Championship and in the Euro Cup. At the end of the year in 2022, the Cobra Team sold their Farmall super sport tractor to Sarah and Christian Jäger from Germany and got the name ''Lady in Red'' in 2023.
After the sale of Cobra XL at the end of 2022, the Dutch team looked for a new pulling tractor to stay in the sport for the future, because they also had built a new transport combination for tractor pulling during the year of 2020 and 2022. So to stop with the most powerful Motorsport on the planet was no option for Paul Beniers and his Team.
The plan after the sale of the 3.6t super sport was to purchase or built a limited super stock tractor. Fortunately, at this time one limited super stock tractor in the Netherlands was for sale, and that was the Brothers Toy of the Vos Brothers from Nieuwleusen.
It wasn't an IH tractor this time, but a very nice Massey Ferguson, which was equipped with a lot of nice components.
The whole chassis for the tractor was developed by Berrie Boer of the Screamin' Bobcat Pulling Team in 2016. Built in 2016/2017, the Massey Ferguson component limited super stock become one of the nicest looking tractors in the limited super stock class. At the first events of the season, the tractor ran in red color without any vinyl graphics on the hood. That should change til the Made's Powerweekend in June 2018. The tractor was there, revealed for the first time, with nice vinyl graphics on the MF hood and the fenders. But the first 2 seasons were very difficult for the team with the tractor. The biggest problem at the beginning was the inline 6 cylinder Sisu alky burner engine with 7l displacement under the hood.
They struggled a lot with technical problems and with some big damages as well. But after many changes and improvements during the time, the Massey Ferguson ran very well and showed a lot of potential for the future. The whole engine settings of the Sisu power plant were further improved during a one-day test on the dyno of the Rednex Pulling Team. After that dyno test in 2021, the tractor ran pretty consistence without any big problems until the end of 2022 season. The Brothers Toy did his final hook at the Dutch National pull in Alphen, since that the MF was parked in the workshop of the Brothers Toy Pulling Team.
With the sale of the Brothers Toy to the Cobra Pulling Team, the Vos brothers saying goodbye to the tractor pulling sport after 22 years. That decision was already made by Bert, Henk and Jacob Vos in August 2022. In those 22 years the team had a lot of success, especially in the Garden Pulling sport of the 600kg compact diesel class. With the Ford TW compact diesel garden puller tractors called ''Brothers Toy'' and ''Sisters Enjoy'' they had a lot of success in the Netherlands and on International pulls. Their biggest success on International level were the European Championship titles in 2008 and 2009.
2008 was a double win for the Brothers Toy Team at the EC in Denmark. They won the title with their IH 1066 called ''Sisters Enjoy'' and finished runner-up with their Ford TW called ''Brothers Toy'' there. A year later, the success was repeated with another European Championship title. This time with the Ford Brothers Toy on home ground in Kampereiland, the Netherlands.
After the 2010 season, the Brothers Toy Team sold their Ford TW 600kg compact diesel to Norway, started to work on a new project. After 10 years in Garden Pulling, the team did the step into the tractor pulling sport, but not into the hood classes. They decided to make a step into the 2.5t light modified class with a completely new tractor.
During the winter of 2010/2011 they started to work on the new Brothers Toy. The new light modified tractor got a Domex wedge frame with 2bar chrome-moly roll cage and light weight carbon fiber fenders. The new tractor received a triple turbochaged DAF 6 cylinder semi truck engine on alcohol fuel with a displacement of . During the building of the new tractor, they got a lot of support and help from the Screamin' Bobcat Pulling Team from Ijsselmuiden in the Netherlands. Berrie Boer did at the time all the development and CAD work for the new project, plus some building work on the new chassis together with the Brothers Toy Team. The whole building of the new tractor took more time than expected. It should take until the beginning of 2014 until the tractor was completely ready to run.
The Brothers Toy Team did their maiden run with the new tractor at the Indoor pull in Zwolle, the Netherlands. The 2014 season was a learning year for the team to understand the new tractor. Already in 2015, the guys showed with the new light modified some very nice and strong hooks in front of the sled. But the good progress with the DAF powered light modified machine should come to an unfortunate bad end in Stroe 2016. After a good start, at around 70/80 m the 6 cylinder DAF alky burner engine blew up in spectacular fashion. Unfortunately, the wedge chassis was damaged as well during the engine breakage.
The huge engine blew up meant, the 2016 season for the team was already over before it really began. After a couple of months of considering what they are doing with the tractor, they decided not to rebuild the tractor and sold the Brothers Toy light modified machine in parts to different teams in Europe. After the demise of the light modified class, the Vos brothers decided to build a brand-new MF limited super stock tractor, which becomes now the Cobra XL. The maiden run for Paul Beniers with his new purchased limited super stock was at European's biggest outdoor pull in Made, the Netherlands.
And the Massey Ferguson with the turbocharged Sisu engine ran very well like in the end of last year, when the tractor was still in the hands of Henk, Bert and Jacob Vos. At 90.42 m the run was over and Paul Beniers was very satisfied with his first pass on the new Cobra XL.
The distance in these 15 competitors, strong international competition, was enough for the 8th place. Just a few days after the event in Made, the tractor was checked together with the Vos brothers in the workshop of the Cobra Pulling Team in Aarle-Rixtel. There were made all the necessary maintenance on the Massey Ferguson limited super stock. Just a week later there was the next Dutch championship competition in Staphorst. And there, the tractor ran very well and Paul did 2 nice passes in front of the Keep Moving Orange. It was a big surprise, the 95.77 m were enough for the 3rd place in finals. Paul Beniers also could beat the multi Dutch champion of the limited super stock class Easy Rider by over 1 m.
So far so good, Paul and his Team are happy with the results of the Massey Ferguson in the limited super stock class after 3 rounds.
Owner and driver Paul Beniers has already told us some interesting details about the plans with the limited
super stock tractor for the further season and for next year.
For this season, the guys from the Netherlands have planned to run just a couple of events, just to learn the character of the tractor and the alcohol technic of the Sisu engine. The events that they run in 2023, they will only do together with the Vos brothers, the old owner of the Massey Ferguson. Henk, Bert and Jacob Vos will support the Cobra Pulling Team on the tractor and on the events for the remainder of the 2023 season and as well for the 2024 season. They are very thankful for their support this season and next season.
For the upcoming winter, there are further changes and improvements planned to the engine and on the tractor. The engine will receive new cylinder heads during the next winter, because the current heads on the engine are already cracked.
The Cobra Team also will do some dyno testing to make sure if they are on a good way according to the engine settings on the Sisu power plant.
The most exciting stuff will happen around the tractor upcoming winter. The guys will replace the Massey Ferguson 7726 hood by an IH Farmall 1206 hood. The hood will look like the same as on the 4.5 component super sport tractor called ''Peeters'' from the Netherlands next year, but only without black smoke and a much nicer shielding.
Paul also explained the switch from MF to IH. The MF is really nicely built and a true masterpiece, but in their hearts, they are IH guys
And before the discussions about the Sisu engine under the IH hood start again. Case IH really has used in their stock tractors Sisu engines in the past. They have built 6 cylinder Sisu engines into their CVX series between 2000 and 2012.
For the Cobra Pulling Team has started now with the MF limited super stock a new chapter in their pulling history. For the Brothers Toy Team is the pulling chapter now over.
We from Pulling-World.com want to thank Henk, Jacob, and Bert Vos for their support on the stories in the past, and wish them a happy retirement and good luck for the future!
